Projects benefit from a variety of project managers at varying times throughout the project – with more experienced project managers at the front-end and intermediate during the life of the project. Further, access to senior PMs are always readily available as a resource. By staffing the level of experience you need at certain intervals during the project, this not only delivers a project that benefits from a variety PM experiences but it is the most economical and this combination helps to grow the entire design team.
As project managers ourselves we take a slightly different approach to staffing PMs on projects. We are able to look at the technical requirement and making a staffing plan that is responsive to the project needs and demands.
What we have done is set up our Wülves into three main categories:
The Alpha Wülf has over 10+ years’ experience in project management, they are the ones you bring at different points in the project to make sure you are on the right track and to help troubleshoot as necessary.
The Beta Wülf is your intermediate Project Manager, they have 7-10 years’ experience and are well versed in project management.
The next is the Omega Wülf that has less than 7 years’ experience but has all the technical knowledge required to run a project.
Wolves are the archetypal project managers – they travel in packs, have a hunting strategy that is efficient, work as a team and are constantly communicating with one another.
